Adaptation of lighting to LED technology (Light Emitting Diode)

LED Technologye

The first LED was developed in 1927, however it was not used in industry until the 1960s. In 1990 the first blue LEDs were manufactured and later white light was manufactured. The great development of this technology has made LED lighting the best option compared to other conventional technologies such as incandescent light, neon light or fluorescent light. LED technology is gaining ground because it has important advantages such as energy savings, cost, duration, and because it is a product that respects the environment.

The term LED comes from Light Emitting Diode which means light emitting diode. They are solid state semiconductor devices with high resistance, which when receiving a very low intensity electrical current, emit light efficiently and with high performance. They are capable of converting electrical energy directly into light. The inside of an LED is a small semiconductor encapsulated in an epoxy resin enclosure. This means that it does not have filaments or other mechanical parts susceptible to breakage or failure due to "melting", but rather its degradation is gradual throughout its life. Another characteristic is the nature of the ignition instantaneously at 100% of its intensity without flickering or starting periods. Finally, it should be mentioned that LED devices are respectful with the environment since they do not contain mercury.

Regarding the lighting of paint booths manufactured prior to LED technology, we are receiving more and more inquiries about the possibility of replacing the conventional system with an LED system.

The most suitable solution is to replace the entire equipment with another made to measure with its corresponding profiles for installation. The cost of this modification is quickly amortized thanks to the energy savings obtained through LED technology. This intervention is increasingly demanded by our clients.
